The UWM Research Foundation is currently seeking two Technology Entrepreneur Interns with positions starting this summer/June 2017! Please see the detailed job description below:

UWMRF Technology Entrepreneur Intern Program

Are you interested in cutting-edge research and learning how to get it into the hands of the public? The UWMRF Technology Entrepreneur Intern Program gives students an opportunity to work in technology transfer and entrepreneurship and help advance technologies developed at UWM to the commercial marketplace.  We are specifically seeking students interested in exploring a career in intellectual property.

The program employs and trains student interns on the core responsibilities of intellectual property management including:

  • Evaluation of intellectual property
  • Market research
  • Commercialization assessment
  • Patenting
  • Licensing of technology
  • Start-up companies
The program is seeking two highly motivated graduate students or undergraduates for a part-time position (15-20hrs per week) to aid in the management of our exciting new technologies. Students must be available for weekly team meetings. Several former interns have successfully obtained jobs at area intellectual property law firms.

Skills required include:
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities
  • Science, technical, or business related majors
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner
